Every day, we face many challenges that make us feel confused, as if there is no end to it. The burden of decision-making may haunt us, leading to nostalgic and imperfect outcomes. These challenges can leave us feeling lost, not knowing where the beginning or the end is.
You might wonder what an intention is. Imagine our lives as paths where the results depend on the choices we make. One path leads to success and prosperity, while the other leads to false perceptions and wrong decisions. When we stand at the crossroads of choosing a path, there is no clear guidance. However, as time passes and we make a choice, a guiding light appears. This light illuminates the path we choose and leads us along it. If we change our path, the light follows us. Once we reach the end, the light fades, reflecting either fulfillment or regret. The cycle repeats with each new choice that arises.
An intention is the state we enter before taking any action, whether good or bad. It is where we connect with our actions and predetermine our outcome. Our intentions reflect the desires of our hearts; if our heart seeks goodness, we are inclined towards good choices, and vice versa. Our intentions reside in our hearts, shaping our true selves and life outcomes. They also influence our emotional state, determining whether we lead a fulfilling life or one filled with obstacles.
Now that we understand what an intention is, how can we maintain it? There are several ways to do so. One approach is to regularly question ourselves about our intentions. For instance, we can ask if what we are planning to do is a good deed, if it is the best choice, and similar questions. Another method is to surround ourselves with positive influences, being in the company of those who support us in making right decisions and striving for the best within ourselves. Additionally, a crucial practice that should be prioritized even before setting an intention is to turn to Allah for guidance when faced with choices. Seeking His help and making our intentions sincerely with trust in Him, as Allah is described as the best guide, is essential for maintaining our intentions.
May our journey through life be guided by Allah, leading us to the right path and rewarding our good deeds. May He forgive us for our sins and shortcomings.
